Whether you’re a novice runner, a seasoned marathoner or triathlete, this class is for you!
Hot Yoga for Runners is a four-week program aimed at improving athletic performance and preventing injury. Runners will learn how to use yoga techniques to strengthen the core, increase range of motion, prevent joint injury, improve breathing, and master mental focus.
We will offer a combination of strength building, stretching and restorative postures for runners. Not flexible enough to practice yoga? That is exactly why this class is for you! Yoga encourages your body to let go of the tightness in the hips, glutes and hammies and as a result you will gain flexibility and strength as well as prevent injury. You may notice after incorporating yoga into your routine that your body feels better when you run and you recover from the long runs more easily.
Taught by Erika Nestor, an avid runner who began practicing yoga nine years ago to complement her marathon training. Her yoga classes are designed to build strength, stamina and flexibility. A runner herself, Erika understands the specific and therapeutic needs of a runner’s body. Erika has run eight marathons- Vermont City Marathon (4), Boston Marathon (2), New York City (1) and Chicago (1). She plans on running her fifth Vermont City Marathon in May 2017 and is hoping for a PR
