Why Hot yoga at home?

Keep your mind, body and spirit healthy and strong!

Our students are telling us that Hot Yoga Online is keeping them sane, calm, and relaxed in these nutty times. The normalcy of rolling out the mat for a 9 a.m. class to start the day or to take a break at 3:30 p.m. is lifesaving.

Though there’s plenty of yoga online, the Hot Yoga community provides a warm, safe, environment with favorite teachers and friends from the studio. There’s a wide variety of frequent classes from Restorative and mindfulness to Level, 1, 2 and Carve yoga with weights for a cardio and strength workout.

Plus members have access to the recordings in our class library, in case you want to repeat a favorite practice.

Suggestions for online yoga class:

  • Create a space at home for your mat. If you can’t leave your yoga space set up, dedicate a corner for a rolled up mat and other props so you can set up easily.
  • Grab a block, strap or bolster if you have one; 1-5 pound weights for Carve classes. A book works for a block. A belt or bathrobe tie works as a strap. Couch cushions or a rolled-up blanket or pillow can be a bolster. Full jars or water bottles make good weights.
  • Have a water bottle and towel handy. Maybe an eye pillow for savasana or rest pose at the end. A clean washcloth will do. Some teachers give out their play list for class so have a device handy to put up Spotify.

What if I don’t feel like doing yoga today?

We’ve always said the hardest part is getting to the mat. Once you’ve taken a class, register for at least two classes a week or as many as you like. Put them in your schedule. Or put a time in your schedule for the recording.

Even if you don’t feel like it, roll out a mat when the time comes, lay down, and rest and breath for a few minutes. Once the class starts, you will feel like moving and life gets brighter from there!

Class Information

  • Please choose a class and sign up.  It’s easy with just your name and email
  • Set up a space slightly bigger than your mat where you can me comfortable stretching in your house or out side.
  • If using a tablet or phone to view the class please download the free Zoom App.  It’s not necessary for laptops or desktop computers
  • About 30 min before class you will receive an email from Zoom/Punch Pass with the LINK for your class.
  • Join in the class.  We have a period of time before the class to chat, visit or just listen in, then class begins
  • One of the advantages of being at home is you can skip the parts you don’t want or can’t do.
  • Many people will be modifying their practice depending on their level of experience.  Avoid comparing your practice to another’s.
  • Do what feels good without strain or pain.
  • Take time for reflection after the class.  Notice the calmness and the decreased stress you may feel even into the next day.
